Welcome to our first Tasty Tuesday of the year, as well as our first Tasty Tuesday under our NEW NAME of Beat Cancer Family Foundation.
The new year always brings new goals and resolutions. Maybe your resolution this year is to save money, or maybe it is to eat healthier; either way, we support you and all your goals this year!
If one of your goals is to eat healthier and/or reduce the amount of artificial sugars in your diet, today’s Tasty Tuesday can assist in both… *Healthier* Homemade Coffee Creamers!
We have a few different flavor options here, hopefully appealing to all preferences 🙂 Start the year off right with less sugar and less added chemicals!
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup condensed milk
1 cup milk of choice
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp Tapioca starch (or arrowroot starch)
1 tbsp Pure Vanilla extract
Base Creamer:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the condensed milk, additional milk of choice, pure maple syrup, and arrowroot or tapioca starch.
Cook the mixture for 6-8 minutes, or until the mixture stars to thicken and almost begins to bubble.
Remove from heat and add in the pure vanilla extract, and stir to combine.
You can transfer this base creamer recipe to a sealable container and store in the fridge until ready to use. As is, it keeps for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
Directions for Vanilla Creamer:
– leave as is or add some more vanilla extract!
Peppermint Mocha Creamer:
– 1.5 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1/8 tsp espresso powder
– 1 tsp peppermint extract
Add to base creamer and stir to combine! Store in fridge.
Chocolate Creamer
– 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Add to base creamer and stir to combine! Store in fridge.
Cinnamon Creamer
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Add to base creamer and stir to combine! Store in fridge.
